PrintPost
PrintPost is the cost-effective way to send magazines, periodicals and catalogues anywhere in New Zealand.
From 1 July 2008, a number of changes are being introduced which will affect Bulk Mail customers. For more information visit www.nzpost.co.nz/addressing.
How it works
This service requires 1,000 or more items per lodgement. We calculate your costs according to the weight of each item, and the time of lodgement.
PrintPost can only be used for delivering magazines, periodicals and catalogues. It cannot be used for delivering handbooks, manuals, directories or annual reports.
- By 'magazines and periodicals', we mean publications with fixed titles that are published regularly - at least twice a year.
- By 'catalogues', we mean publications that market products and services to, and invite purchases from, their recipients and are published at least twice a year.
Our requirements
To use PrintPost, you need to be sending 1,000 items or more within a single weight range. You can also send 1,000 items or more that have different weight ranges, but only if you lodge them all in the weight range of the heaviest item.
The maximum dimensions for all items are:
- Thickness 20mm
- Size (length x height) 385mm x 260mm
- Weight 1.5kg
There are some things we need you to do to make sure we can deliver your mail effectively and quickly.
- Each item needs an approved PermitPost impression, a New Zealand delivery address and return address.
- You need to prepare your mail according to the specifications detailed below and any other guidelines or specifications that apply.
- Your mail must meet current or newly released New Zealand Post standards for postcodes, envelope layout and addressing.
- A Statement of Accuracy of 85% is required to be eligible for PrintPost rates on the total lodgement
How to prepare your PrintPost mail for lodgement
- Sort your items into ascending postcode order.
- Place them address side up, and arrange them in letter trays or bundles so that the PermitPost impression is in the top right-hand corner of the item.
- Make sure your mail includes a Statement of Posting form (an AR019N or Lodgement Manager Manifest). You will need to fill in the appropriate PrintPost code.
- Lodge your mailing - or have your agent or courier do so on your behalf - at any New Zealand Post mail centre or PostShop.
Lodgement times
PrintPost mail can be lodged from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) with two lodgement times available. Lodge your items:
- After 8am and before 12 noon and you'll pay the standard price.
- Between 12 noon and 5pm and you'll pay the standard price plus 1 cent per item (including GST). This is the afternoon price.
Mail will only be accepted after 5pm, or on weekends or public holidays by prior arrangement with your local Mail Service Centre Manager and will be charged at a higher rate.
