Applying for a job at New Zealand Post couldn't be easier

Follow these step-by-step instructions and in a matter of minutes you could be on the way to building your career at NZ Post...

1. Getting On

Go to our website www.nzpost.co.nz.
This is what the web page will look like.

Click on Careers at Post.

 

2. Registering Yourself

To be able to profile yourself in our talent pool database, and also to apply for jobs, you need to register yourself of the careers website.

Register for Careers.

Click on Register for Careers.

 

You need to fill in all the required fields (required fields have a red dot next to them) and click Save.

Note: you will need to select a username and password that is easy to remember. You will need to use this every time that you login.

*If you are currently an employee of NZ Post or Express Couriers Ltd then please remember to fill in your employee ID number and also your date of birth.

 

Once you have successfully registered a page similar to this will be displayed letting you know that your account has been created and that an email has been sent to you to verify your email address.

* Please ensure that you click on the verification email link that you receive otherwise your account will not be activated.

Job Alerts are a smart way to register your job search preferences and we can then email you when a job matching your criteria becomes available.

Update My Account is where you manage changes to your personal details in your careers account eg: if your email address has changed.

My Applications lets you keep track of your past and present online applications.

 

3. Setting up 'My Profile'

Set up a profile for yourself. When you have created a profile we can match you to upcoming jobs and speed up your application.

Fill in all the required details, including your personal preferences on where you would like to work and in which particular business area eg: Postie or Retail.

Once this has been saved it will be active for 90 days. You will receive an email reminder one week prior to the expiry date prompting you to login to your account and reset the expiry date if you wish your profile to remain active.

 

4. Applying For A Job

If you wish to apply for a job click on Job Search.

You can search for jobs under all of the categories that are available. You can also use the reference number for the job that is stated at the bottom of all our ads.

Click the Search button and all of the results from the criteria that you selected will appear.

 

Once you have found a job that you would like to apply for, click in the View check box and then click the View Selected button.

Alternatively click on the position name that is in blue text.

The full ad will now be showing. If it's what you are looking for then you can click the Apply Online button which is at the bottom of the ad.

If you have filled out and saved a profile for yourself then most of your details will be pre-populating the required fields but you need to check you have answered all of the questions on the online application form.

* Don't forget to upload your CV or type the details into the manual resume box!

You can partially complete the online application form and choose to Save & Submit Later otherwise complete the full application form and click Submit.

Sometimes there is a questionnaire that you will need to fill in which is attached to the online application form.

Before you can go further you need to answer these questions.

Once you are happy that you have completed this to the best of your knowledge, click on Submit.

5. The Final Stage

Once you have hit submit, your application will automatically be sent to the New Zealand Post Recruitment database. It will be linked straight to the job for which you are applying.

The Recruitment Adviser who is in charge of the job will have their name and phone number placed on the bottom of the ad.  They can answer any questions that you may have regarding your application and the process.

They will be in touch with you by phone, email or letter as soon as the application has been shortlisted to let you know the outcome of your application.

You can apply for more than one role at the same time within New Zealand Post.

Troubleshooting

6. Unable to view the careers website

Please check that you are able to access other websites.  For example try www.google.com.
If you are unable to access other websites then the issue should be raised with your internet service provider.

If you are able to access other websites but are still unable to access http://careers.nzpost.co.nz please email webmaster@nzpost.co.nz with the details of the error message you get when trying to access the website.

To ensure that you are viewing the latest update of the webpage:
1.  Open Internet Explorer
2.  Go to Tools/Internet Options/General
3.  Click on Settings
4.  Click on Every time you open Internet Explorer
5.  Click OK

* To view the Careers website your internet browser security settings need to allow Pop-ups and JavaScript.
 

7. Forgotten Username or Password

If you forget your login name or password just click on the Forgot my Password link and enter in your email address.

* This must be the email address that you used to set up your careers account.

8. Reset Profile Expiry Date

Your profile will only be active for 90 days. One week before the profile is due to expire you will receive an email prompting you to reset your profile;

1.  Login to your careers account
2.  Click on My Profile
3.  Click on the Reset Expiry Date button

9. Change Email Address

If you want to change the email address in your careers account profile;

1.  Login to your careers account
2.  Click on Update My Account
3.  Enter in your password
4.  Enter in your new email address
5.  Click Save
